Students present about waste management to their schools after JICA Student Tour 2

2024.05.17
Ten students who attended JICA’s second student tour in March 2024 from Iarowari Secondary and Port Moresby School of Excellence presented to their schools on the 17th of May and 23rd April 2024 respectively.
The presentations were aimed at raising awareness on proper waste management in their schools by educating their fellow students. The 10 students presented about their experience during the student tour, which included site visits to the Baruni Sanitary Landfill and Sewage Treatment Plant. They also promoted the 3Rs campaign initiated by NCDC Waste Management Division to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle waste in school around NCDC. Students also educated their colleagues about waste segregation by utilizing the wheely bins donated by JICA.
JICA is pleased to partner with the NCDC, CEPA, Water PNG and participating schools to conduct this tour and educate young Papua New Guineans about proper waste management practices.
