JICA participates in the PAU Careers Expo 2024

JICA had the pleasure of participating in the Pacific Adventist University’s (PAU) 2024 Career Expo held on Monday 2nd September 2024.

The JICA team was excited to participate in the PAU Career Expo this year and engage with the students to showcase the work of JICA in PNG and training programs offered by JICA for government officials through its bilateral support to the Government of PNG. Students were advised that they would get a chance to participate in JICA training programs if they work in a government entity in the future-it could be a department, school or hospital, etc. JICA offers long-term and short-term training for government officials.

JICA’s stall was swamped with curious students who wanted to know about the organization, and the amazement on their faces when they learned that JICA has been in PNG for almost 50 years now and have contributed significantly to PNG’s growth and development over the years.

The event was a fantastic platform for the students to explore potential career paths and connect with professionals from different fields such as Conservation and Environment Protection Authority, PNG Power Limited, National Agriculture and Research Institute, Motor Vehicle Insurance Limited, Westpac Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers and others who also participated in this event.

JICA PNG aims to foster international collaboration and development in PNG through its training opportunities so that people in PNG can acquire higher qualifications and have a chance to actively contribute to the development of this great nation.
