Two students from Sogeri Primary School, 14-year-old Apota and Masia, have submitted their artwork to the prestigious international competition, **Heralbpny Art Prize 2025**. This competition aims to celebrate the talents of artists with disabilities and promote their individuality on a global stage.

Apota and Masia are recognized by their teachers and parents as having unique learning styles. While they face challenges in subjects like mathematics and language, they are supported with learning methods tailored to their needs. Creating art has become an essential form of self-expression for them, allowing them to communicate their thoughts and emotions with great sincerity.

Their artistic talents were discovered during an art class led by Mr. Uchiyama, a JICA volunteer Assigned in Sogeri Primary School. The class, which focused on environmental conservation as a theme, highlighted their creativity and unique perspectives. Encouraged by this experience, they decided to submit their entries to the competition.

The artwork submitted by Apota and Masia reflects their distinctive creativity and vibrant sense of color. When asked about their thoughts on participating in the competition, they shared heartfelt comments:
Apota: I would be so happy if my artwork connects me with people from different countries.
Masia: I hope my feelings of love for my hometown and the beautiful nature of Sogeri reach people around the world.
They also expressed their excitement about this opportunity: We rarely have a chance to create art, so being able to express our thoughts through this competition has been a very special experience for us.

Mr. Uchiyama praised their work, saying: Their artwork beautifully conveys their deep love for their hometown and their desire to protect its natural beauty. It is filled with a message that deserves to be shared with many people.

As Apota and Masia’s artwork reaches a global audience through the ** HERALBONY Art Prize 2025**, many are eager to see the response it garners and how this experience will shape their futures.
