We are excited to share an interview with Ms. Sachiko Imoto, Senior Vice President of JICA, for “UzDaily”, where she highlighted JICA’s longstanding commitment to Uzbekistan. For over three decades, JICA has been deeply involved in supporting Uzbekistan’s development, contributing 551.8 billion Japanese Yen, equivalent to $3.7 billion to key sectors like energy, education, and human resource development.
Energy and Infrastructure: One of our proudest achievements is in the energy sector, where JICA-supported projects are said to contribute 23% of Uzbekistan’s total power generation capacity. This effort is part of our broader mission to help Uzbekistan achieve a sustainable and resilient future.
Human Resource Development: We have also focused on building strong human connections between our nations. Over 2,800 Uzbek trainees have participated in programs in Japan, and 1,200 Japanese experts have worked directly in Uzbekistan, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Future Goals: As we look ahead, JICA is committed to advancing Uzbekistan’s green transformation, enhancing economic resilience, and improving connectivity and human resource development.
