JICA Zimbabwe appoints Edith weUtonga as Public Relations Ambassador

JICA Zimbabwe Office has appointed renowned musician Edith weUtonga as the organisations’ Public Relations Ambassador. Her role will involve the promotion of JICA’s activities, especially on Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) programme in the country in a bid to create more awareness on the programme and encourage organisations to participate.

Edith herself is a beneficiary of the JOCV programme having had the opportunity to be taught music lessons by Japanese volunteer music instructors during her secondary education in Bulawayo at Townsend High School. Currently, she is involved in the teaching of music to Zimbabwean teachers through a Japanese NGO, Shimanami Art Firm, which is supported by JICA.
