2026.03.24
JICA Zimbabwe bid farewell to two dedicated Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCVs), Community Development volunteer, Ms. Midori Matsunaga and Physical Education volunteer, Ms. Eri Kameyama on 19 March 2026. Time truly flies on the journey of volunteerism, and the passion and impact JICA volunteers bring to communities is inspirational.
Ms. Matsunaga touched the lives of countless women and girls, championing the power of girl child education and empowering communities with knowledge that uplifts generations. Together with her counterparts, she went above and beyond equipping marginalized women and girls with essential life skills, advocating for girls’ education rights, and offering career guidance, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
In the sphere of Physical Education, Ms. Kameyama promoted health, fitness, and sport, contributing to nurturing confidence, skills development, empowerment for sport as a social and economic activity, and cultivating the spirit of leadership among the youth.
Ms. Matsunaga and Ms. Kameyama’s efforts helped forge brighter futures in Zimbabwe!
