|1963||Technical cooperation for Kenya started by Overseas Technical Cooperation Agency (OTCA). First 2 Kenyan personnel participated in Training program in Japan.|
|1964||First Japanese Expert dispatched to Kenya by OTCA (in the area of Metal working).|
|1966||Bilateral agreement (Exchange of Notes) on Dispatch of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) between Government of Japan and Government of Republic of Kenya concluded. First 2 JOCVs dispatched to Kenya by OTCA (in the area of Construction machinery and Electric work).|
|1969||Coordinator for JOCV program dispatched to Kenya.|
|1971||OTCA Nairobi Office established.|
|1973||First ODA Loan provided to Kenya by Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF) (on Expansion of Mombasa Airport).|
|1974||"Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) established to take over OTCA and Japan Emigration Service (JEMIS).
OTCA Nairobi Office renamed to JICA Nairobi Office. (Renamed to JICA Kenya Office in 1986)."

|1987||JICA Kenya Office starts to cover Uganda, Seychelles and Somalia. (Later cover Rwanda and Burundi as well.)|
|1999||"Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) established by merging Export-Import Bank of Japan (JEXIM) and OECF.
OECF Nairobi Representative Office renamed to JBIC Nairobi Representative Office. "

|2003||"JICA changes from a special public institution to an independence administrative institution.
