The first JOCV (Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers) members arrived in Mongolia in April 1992. Since then, more than 350 volunteers including JOCV-s and Senior Overseas Volunteers have come to Mongolia and worked with the local Mongolian people.

JOCV-s and Senior Overseas Volunteers in Mongolia are working in various fields such as education, health and medical service, local development, environment, broadcasting, energy, and so on. Both the JOCV and Senior Overseas Volunteer programs depend on the voluntarism and participation of Japanese citizens, which play an important role in JICA' s activities.
