Environmental Education Activities (Puppet Show)

Today we introduce some other environmental education activities carried out by our Project.  On October 4, 2007, we held an environmental education session with students at the Victoriano Lorenzo school.

First, the ANAM personnel performed a puppet show.  An iguana and a Harpy eagle appeared on stage and spoke out on the importance of forests and shade trees.  The boys and girls were all excited.  Behind the scene, ANAM personnel played their roles with passion. (Photos 1 and 2)

Next, the students divided into groups; each group chose a theme related to the environment and made their own puppet show.  In photo 3, the children are making their own puppets.  With the advice of ANAM personnel and teachers, little by little the children put together their own story.  Photo 4 is a scene from the children's presentation.  Each group created a very original puppet show.

In photo 5 you can see Yackie and Jazmin, from the Directorate for Promoting Environmental Culture, who gave the enthusiastic puppet show for the children.  Behind them is a sign made by the school children that reads, "Welcome ANAM-JICA Project".
