Annual Activity Evaluation and Planning Workshop

Beginning in December 2007, we held a workshop with each farmer group to evaluate the activities that had been carried out by each group together with the Project during approximately one year.  The activities were evaluated by 3 levels: "good", "normal", and "bad".  At the beginning of the workshop it was a challenge to get the members to express their opinions, but once the barrier was broken everyone spoke about all the topics at once making it hard to keep order in the discussion.  After finishing the evaluation, the members plan next year's activities.  I wonder what each group will want to do?

(Photo 1) The evaluation of group activities began with the Chilibrillo community.  Group members met in the meetinghouse on their group farm and discussed the activities they had done. (December 7, 2007)

(Photo 2) Once the evaluation is over, the following year's plan is made. We asked them to draw their planting plan for next year on paper.  This group's drawing was especially detailed; they used a ruler for making straight lines and even drew in the method for planting the crops.  (December 7, 2007)
