Floriculture Seminar

Among the groups doing activities with the Project, one had learned how to grow seedlings in another project.  This group proposed using those techniques to develop activities in growing and selling flowering plants.  Unfortunately, no one among our Project personnel has sufficient knowledge of floriculture.  Therefore, we need to gather information and study the theme before beginning the activity.

As one step in this process, on May 26, 2008, we invited Ms. Yoko Goto from JICA Panama office to our Project office to give a talk on floriculture.  Ms. Goto was a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV) in western Panama for two years and had worked in floriculture.  Her knowledge of this field together with her experiences made her talk very convincing and we learned many things.
