Meeting of the 6th Joint Coordinating Committee

On February 19, 2010, the 6th Joint Coordinating Committee meeting was held, the first since the installation of the new government. Under the skillful direction of Mr. Silvano Vergara, the Project Director and the National Director of Integrated Watershed Management (of ANAM), the advances made in the Project last year were reported and the Annual Plan of Operation (APO) and technical transfer plan for 2010 were approved. (The box below shows the Order of the Day for the meeting.) Also, during the question and answer sessions, there was a dynamic exchange of opinion regarding the Project’s exit strategy.

Regarding the reports given in the meeting, the C/P showed their initiative by preparing and giving almost all the presentations by themselves. The Japanese experts limited themselves to behind the scene support and to giving supplemental explanations in the meeting.
