New Look for Maradana College of Technology

Pictures show Dr.H.L.Obeyesekara, Director General, Department of Technical Education and Training (DTET) after accepting the first batch of equipment from Mr.Yoshiaki Umimae, Chief Advisor, JICA, JSCoT Project at the ceremony of handing over the equipment to the Career Guidance Center of Maradana College of Technology (CoT) on 3rd April 2006.

The DTET, Sri Lanka's primer technical training provider, strengthenes its Career Guidance Center at Maradana College of Technology under the JSCoT project aided by JICA.

The 1st lot of equipment was handed over by Mr.Yoshiaki Umimae, to Dr.H.L.Obeyesekara. The students and staff members of the CoT were present at this occation including Mr. Ko Goto, the Assistant Residence Representative, JICA Sri Lanka Office, Mr.L.M.Gurusinghe Director, Career Guidance and Industrial Liaison, Mr.N.R.R.K.Wijenayake the Principal, Maradana CoT, Mr. K.D.W.Goonewardena – Counterpart Officer, Japan Division and Japanese Experts.

With the modern equipment, this center will provide better services to the students of the CoT as well as the prospective customers like industry workers and the students of the general education. The JSCoT project will provide morden infrastructure facilities to the customers, with a complete range of guidance services based on the results of the basic survey in career guidance and counseling in near future.
