Final Skills Competition 2006 in Kegalle Technical College

Final Skills Competition for year 2006 was held in Technical College, Kegalle on the 22nd January 2007. The winners of the zonal level competitions participated in the final competition and the details were as follows:

Mr. Umimae, Chief Advisor, JSCoT Project, highlighted the background and the outline of the skills competition during his opening speech at the inauguration ceremony. Also he expressed his sincere gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the National Skills Competition 2006.

The Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training, Mr. W.M.S. Wijekoone highlighted the way that DTET expanded the trade areas year by year up to ten trades in year 2006. He thanked JICA and JSCoT Project for the support that they gave to make this event success.

No doubt it was a well organized competition and our thank goes to Mr. H.N. Rathnasiri, the Principal, Mr. W.A.D. Wickramarachchi, the Vice Principal and the Staff of the Technical College, Kegalle.

The significant thing we realized was that “We were able to see a very competitive competition among the competitors in the year 2006 Final Skills Competition”. The winners, excellent instructors and colleges will be awarded trophies and certificates at an awarding ceremony to be held later.
