Report of Mr. Yamada on his Work

Through his presentation on the expert work on 28 June 2007, Mr. Yamada, Short-term Expert on Mechatronics, reported that he completed the following things during his short period of stay from 21.05.2007 to 29.06.2007.

-> List of equipment needed in JSCoT Mechatronics section in 2008,

-> Assembling of teaching material kits including:
- Insect Robot with Infra Red Sensor and DC motor,
- Arm type robot with motor controlled by P.C,
- Linear guide mechanism with screw motion.

-> Teaching of Micro Controller Programming Techniques to C/P officers.

Mr. Yamada further suggested,

-> To follow 5M(Man, Machine, Material, Method and Measurements) to maintain a good quality class,

-> To have some basic subjects as well as their own specialized subjects to get the college of excellence as the future image of Mechatronics area in COTs.

Then during their presentations, the counterpart officers of the Mechatronics Section reported that they have prepared some teaching materials related to some modules on Micro Controllers, Digital Electronics, PLC and Lathe Machine Practice under the guidance of Mr. Yamada .

Mr Goonewardena, the Counterpart officer, Japan Division, thanked Mr. Yamada for the great services he performed and suggest to call him once again as a short term expert on the requests of C/P officers in the Mechatronics section.

Finally Mr. Umimae, the Chief Advisor, JSCoT Project thanked Mr. Yamada and counterpart officers for their presentations and underlined the importance of development of teaching materials by instructors themselves.
