JSCoT project conducted its 4th Technical Committee meeting on 21st August 2007 at the conference hall of the Department of Technical Education and Training (DTET)

Dr. H.L. Obeyesekara, Director General (DTET), welcomed the participants. Following the confirmation of the minutes of the 3rd Technical Committee meeting Mr. Umimae, the Chief Advisor, JSCoT project presented an overall report on the progress in the activities of the last 6 months:

-Installation of heavy machines in the Metal work section was completed.
-Official inauguration ceremony of Maradana College of Technology was held on 07th August 2007.
-Awarding ceremony of Skill Competition 2006 was held.
-Short term IT course for industry workers started
-Short term course for instructors in Mechatronics was held.

Then they adjourned to the staff room of each section and discussed the technical issues regarding its relevant subject field. Industry members who visited the workshops, labs and classes were highly satisfied and it was proved through their views according to the responses appeared in the questionnaire which the project conducted.

Finally vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. L.M. Gurusinghe, Director, Industrial Liaison and Career Guidance, DTET.
