5th Joint Coordinating Committee Meeting (JCC)
On the 06th of February 2008, at Secretary's conference room in MVTT, we held our 05th JCC meeting. Mr.T. Hapangama, the Secretary of MVTT, chaired the meeting and reviewed the achievements of past six months and discussed the activity plans for the coming period of six months.
The following reports were presented by the relevant officials:
•Mr.N.R.R.K. Wijenayake, Director SLCoT, explained the overall report on the major achievements and activities during July to December 2007 as well as on the results of 2008 students selection,
•ADG-DTET, Mr.D.V.P.Y. Kulathunge on behalf of DG, explained the thrust of the project implementation policy in 2008 and its major activities,
•Mr. Y. Umimae, Chief Advisor JSCoT, reported the daft plan of the Project implementation in 2008, focusing on the Japanese inputs to the Project.
Mr. S. Higuchi, the 2nd Secretary, Embassy of Japan, questioned about the delay in tax reimbursement and ADG answered that all payments have been settled so far and in future it will be settled smoothly.
Ms. N. Suzuki, Resident Representative of JICA Sri Lanka Office, stated that New Chief Advisor and Coordinator will be appointed to the Project respectively. Also she requested to extend the fullest support of all counterpart officers to work with the Mid-term evaluation team.
