Three Counterpart Officers Returned from Japan to Sri Lanka

After having their training in Japan Ms.Shirani Hettiarachchi and Mr.K.J.A.T.Jayawardena, the Counterpart Officers of Mechatronics Section, and Mr.A.A.D.Leelaratne, the Counterpart Officer of Welding Section of JSCoT Project, reported their feed back on 19th Nov.2008.

At their group presentation, Ms.Shirani and Mr.Jayawardena reported that during their individual training in Chiba Polytechnic Center, they learned a lot on PLC, PLD, SCADA and Robot System. Among those topics they highlighted the areas like PLC Program laddering diagrams, Touch Panal technology, Programing, Operation and Maintenance of Robot in Denso Company, FA Network technology(Earthnet), PLD develop technology, Micro Computer technology and Building a model of Line tracer using PIC 16F84.

Mr.Leelarathna reported that during his group training in Chubu International Centre, he also learned a lot on Welding process and equipment, Materials and their behaviour, Construction and design for welding structures, Engineering applications and fabrication, Practical operations on TIG and MIG, Observations or demonstrations on Gouging and Brazing etc.

All Counterpart Officers thanked to their respective Sensei in Chiba Polytechnic Centre and Chubu International Centre for their devotion and hard working on the training.

Mr.Kumar Goonewardena, Coordinating Manager of JSCoT Project, at his speech said "I realy appreciate the Presentation Skills of our Counterpart Officers and do keep it up when you deliver the lectures in the class room environment".

Mr.HIRAMATSU Kenji, the long term expert in Mechatronics said "I feel it is very hard and tough training that our Counterpart Officers received during their training in Japan, any way I can say the presentations were excellent".

On behalf of Mr.KISHIMOTO Takaomi, the Chief Advisor of JSCoT Project Mr.SAITO Hiroshi, the Coordinator of JSCoT Project said "though it is a tight schedule of training but, I think Counterpart Officers may experienced the Japanese way of doing things and the life style of Japanese can apply where it could be.

Director Research and Development of DTET, Mr.K.K.A.Karunathilake said "It is very important to update Knowledge and Skills of the relevant fields and I feel that our Counterpart Officers have collected a lot during their training and also it is remarkable to hear that they have gained the field and cultural experience through their training in Japan".

Finally, Mr.J.Ariyasinghe, the HOD of model Courses delivered the vote of thank.
