Industry practices awareness program – National Competency Standard Units 16 & 18

According to the National Vocational Qualification framework of Sri Lanka each vocational training program is defined by set of industry requirements. These industry requirements, documented in National Competency Standard (NCS) plays a major role in setting the scope of curriculum for each and every training course. 
Hence the knowledge of industry practices is very essential for the academic staff of vocational institutes. The ICT section organized such industry practices awareness program on National Competency Standard Units 16 & 18 with the help of Metatechno Lanka Company (Pvt) Ltd on end of Jun 2009. The company personnel explained and exchanged their experiences on software change management and middleware server configuration. It was a great chance for academic staff of ICT division, JSCoT project to enlighten what is actually happening in the industry and how the industry implement the theoretical concepts in real world. This session was conducted as a part of text book development project for those 2 units.
