Under the auspices of the JSCoT Project, the Career Guidance & Industrial Liaisons (CG & IL) Director, Mr. L M G Gurusinghe and the Research & Development Director, Mr. K K A Karunathilaka of the Department of Technical Education and Training (DTET) requested the National Productivity Secretariat (NPS) of the Ministry of Employment & Labor to conduct a two-day Training of Trainer (TOT) program on Basic Productivity, Presentation Skills, 5S Methodology and Kaizen for the Career Guidance Officers (CGOs) of all the Technical Colleges and a few staff of the Department on 13 and 14 September 2009 at the DTET Auditorium in Colombo.
The main objective of the TOT was to build capacity of the CG Officers and staff of DTET by increasing their awareness and knowledge on productivity improvement techniques, tools and practices such as 5S and Kaizen so that they could increase their efficiency.
