Counterpart Officers of Mechatronics section have launched their 2nd Know How Dissemination Program on the 28th, 29th and 30th of September 2009.

This Program has designed as the “1st part of the Advanced PLC Training Program” and was conducted by Mr.J Ariyasinghe and Mr.K.J.A.T Jayawardena (H.O.D. Model Courses and Counterpart Officer) in Mechatronics Section respectively. The reported participation for this training was nine and they all were instructors from the other Technical Colleges.

The main theme of this program was “How to program OMRON PLC by personal Computer.” Under this theme, they have covered the areas of Introduction, In put & Out put, Wiring and Basic Control. This time the total training cost was borne by the Department of Technical Education and Training.

The result of the assessment proved that this training program was successful, but the participants have indicated the duration of three days were not enough to get the hands on experience thoroughly as they do not have “PLC” in their institutes to train as well.
The Instructors have stated that they can give their contribution to make the “Trainer Boards” if project can arrange a workshop on that.
