Basic Training Course for Agricultural Engineers

The DOKAP-TARIM Project implements a series of seminars for agricultural engineers and technicians who have responsibility of dissemination of multiple farming in the region. In 2007/08, the Basic course was provided 3 times to total 55 persons from 6 provinces concerned. Following the 1st seminar in October 2007, the 2nd and 3rd seminar were carried out in January to February 2008. The major contents of these 5-days seminars were; 1) rural development; 2) agricultural extension; 3) project formulation & implementation; and 4) some specific crops. Most of the lectures were given by the Japanese experts and Turkish counterparts. The filed trip (strawberry, pipe-house, and tree nursery) and discussions on project planning were also included in these seminars. The participants got the general idea regarding the Project and had interest in specific technical matters. Most of the trainees said the seminar was useful for their future works for agricultural development in their service areas.
In the year of 2008/09, next series of the Seminars; Survey course, Planning course, Implementation course and Technical course; will be held, in connection with the new extension projects in 6 provinces.
