DOKAP-TARIM Seminar on Appraisal Course Carried out for Selected Agricultural Engineers

DOKAP-TARIM Seminar 2A was carried out during 5 - 9 May. The 5-day seminar was rural appraisal course for the graduates of Seminar 1 (basic course), which was already implemented 3 times. The 26 technical staffs in the 6 provinces attended the Seminar 2A, including 5 provincial coordinators.
This seminar included several kinds of practices relating to rural appraisal for project formation. The participants made trials on discussion workshop and questionnaire survey in Hamsikoy of Macka district and prepared short reports of those results.
In this seminar, some useful tools for rural appraisal and food marketing research were introduced for their references. In addition, the Turkish pioneer onsweet potato was invited from Hatay province to give
the special lecture.
The participants are expected to implement such rural appraisal to select their extension project sites.
The draft plan of the extension projects will be formulated through discussions in the next practical seminar to be held in June.
