Great Step on Group Marketing of Strawberry in Kurucam

"Group Marketing" is a beautiful word but difficult to be realized especially in Eastern Black Sea region. The strawberry group in Kurucam model area has successfully sold the strawberry during their first harvest. The leader farmers organize members to a marketing group of strawberry. Individual members harvested strawberry and the leaders collected strawberry containers to bring them to town. They could sell members' products to traders in better conditions.

The principal benefit of group marketing is reduction of marketing cost and strengthening of bargaining power. Especially small-scale farmers can receive benefit from grouping. In fact, the Kurucam strawberry producers could sell their products to proper traders even individual shipping lots were very small. The marketing cost was also much lower than individual marketing.
