Message from the Resident Representative

Hello!

I'm Hitoshi Sato, Resident Representative of JICA Sierra Leone Office.

Initially, JICA field office was established in November 2004 and has been implementing projects in the fields of education, water supply, agriculture, health, infrastructure, and rural development.

In August 2019, a technical cooperation agreement was signed between the both governments of Sierra Leone and Japan, and in October of the same year, the office was upgraded from field office to a country office. This is truly a great and timely opportunity for more proactive and full-scale cooperation and office management.

Currently, we are implementing a number of projects mainly in the four pillars of infrastructure, agriculture, health, and governance sectors.

We will continue to work closely with government officials to ensure smooth implementation of projects, and effective and speedy project formulation and preparation to meet new needs.

JICA will continue to work hard to contribute to the development of Sierra Leone and the health, happiness and prosperity of Sierra Leone's people.

Thank you!

SATO Hitoshi
Resident Representative
