Soon after South Africa's first democratic elections in 1994, the JICA South Africa Office opened its doors, and this year marks our 25th year anniversary in this country. In addition, we are also proud to announce that the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) Programme, is celebrating 20 years of having volunteers live and work within South African communities. Over the next few months, as part of our "Anniversary Series" we will feature stories from people who played a significant role in our journey to these respective milestones.
