The participants were divided into four groups based on the themes the participants were interested in, such as maintenance dredging, cargo handling machinery, port structural facilities and others.

The participants had a series of lively and productive discussion with the lead and inputs by the lecturers from the National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management, the Port and Airport Research Institute, experts in cargo handling machinery, ancillary facilities, and repairing port structures.

Despite the time difference between the countries, the participants from Panama actively took part in the session although it being late at night.

The participants actively joined in the program with their own unique issues and through getting advice from the experts and learning from the lectures, found approaches to solving the problems.

The participant from Djibouti actively sought opinions from experts and gathered information on the electrical corrosion protection of the oil receiving jetty, a steel structure currently under construction, and considered the introduction of Japanese technology.
