On November 21, 2019, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Record of Discussions with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta for Capacity Development on Operation of Earthquake and Tsunami Analysis and Warning Dissemination, a technical cooperation project.
The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics of the Republic of Indonesia to observe earthquakes and tsunami as well as issue and disseminate information and warnings. The project will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goals 1, 11 and Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 [*].
* Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 is a global agenda that was adopted at the Third UN World Conference for DRR in March 2015.
