On the 8th of March, most concerned members of the working group E for Policy Design at MOH level discussed to seek the most suitable measures to strengthen the NB-IST. As a result, following strategies are conceived.

• 1. To integrate the NB-IST concept into the National Training Policy and Strategic plan (2011-2015) while the MOH is reviewing these documents this year.
• 2. To develop the guidelines on the NB-IST to support the policy.
• 3. To work close to the Fiji College of Nursing.
  IST for nurses will be accredited by “Fiji College of Nursing” for nurses to gain credits/ points of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) which will be necessary for the renewal of annual practice license. This has been legalized by “Nursing Decree” endorsed in January 2012. The project will work close to Fiji College of Nursing for the NB-IST and training courses for mid-level nursing managers to be accredited.
