The NB-IST proposal which had been formulated in the last workshop has approved by IST coordinators. The first NB-IST in Tonga was implemented in Vava'u in mid-August. The top priority needs for IST was "Confident in Management Disaster such as Cyclone and Fire (in hospital)". Several days later, the fire alarm sounded actually in Vaiola hospital. The project came to perceive importance of the training for the hospital fire management again. Following this, the NB-IST for "Managing Home Delivery" was carried out in Tongatapu at the beginning of September. This NB-IST is one of the top priorities because there are nearly 40 mothers gives birth at home in Tongatapu each year though most of the RH nurses working at the community level has never experienced home delivery.
