On 4 December 2012, a consultation meeting on the Supervision and Coaching (S&C) was held in Portvila, Shefa Province. Stakeholders from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Shefa Province, development partners such as Save the Children, WHO, VSO, Peace-corps, and JICA, and provincial health managers in other 5 provinces participated in the meeting. The Director General of Health; Mr. Howard Aru, opened the meeting. S&C activities have been prepared by the MOH, Shefa Provincial Health Office, Vanuatu College of Nursing Education (VCNE) and Vanuatu Nursing Council (VNC) in collaboration with the project about a year. The four months pilot activities initiated in Shefa Province in 2012. The outcome of the S&C piloting in Shefa province such as draft guidelines of S&C, draft S&C tools, monitoring system, was presented in this meeting. Valuable feedback, inputs, advises were given by the stakeholders from each point of view which will be shared and discussed among with members of the established working group early next year.
