PEEQ started implementing substantial activities in the two target regions, namely Chaouia Ourdigha and Doukkala Abda.
Moroccan inspectors and Japanese experts observed 24 lessons in 16 primary schools and eight lower secondary schools from 25th December, 2014 to 9th January, 2015. This activity allowed the Moroccan and Japanese sides to share the criteria for the observation of lessons.
The first meetings of Regional Coordination Committee (CCR) were held in Chaouia Ourdigha and Doukkala Abda on 13th and 15th January, 2015 respectively. The Framework of Reference that was approved in the Joint Coordinating Committee in December 2014, was presented to the CCR members.
Furthermore, PEEQ implemented workshops for analyzing the curriculum of mathematics in Chaouia Ourdigha on 13th and 14th January 2015 and that of natural sciences in Doukkala Abda on 15th and 16th January 2015. Based on the results of the workshops, supplementary teaching-learning materials will be developed in the project.
We heard interesting news during these days. A participant from Chaouia Ourdigha in the JICA's training program in Japan "Educational Administration, Financial System and School Management for Expansion of Basic Education in Middle East" informed their colleagues on the Japanese mechanism of school cleaning activity by students. The Chaouia Ourdigha Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) decided to introduce it into primary and lower secondary schools in the region. A large poster has been distributed to schools. Currently students start cleaning their classroom and school.
