Twenty-one members of CBET component of the project, including natonal park staff, Working Group members and community representatives, visited Bach Ma National Park near Hue and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh Province. The team observed the tourism activities such as ecotrails and visitor's center in the 2 national parks. Bach Ma plateau has been developed as a resort during French colonial times, and is now closed for construction of roads to the summit. Caves of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is registered by UNESCO as World Heritage Site and is visited by many tourists.The project also visited the Technical Cooperation Project for Improving Rural Living and Nature Conservation by Multipurpose Use of Charcoal and Wood Vinegar, based in the Bach Ma National Park, funded by JICA.
