Emergency Assistance to the Republic of Vanuatu in Response to the Damages caused by the Earthquake in Port Villa

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the earthquake disaster, upon the request from the Government of Republic of Vanuatu.
1. Disaster situation
Earthquake, which occurred on 17 December 2024, has caused serious human and property damage. According to Government of the Republic of Vanuatu, the damage situation as of 21 December 2024 was as follows:
- Deaths 12 persons
- Injured 210 persons
- Affected approximately 80,000 persons
- Collapsed houses 10 buildings
2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Singapore)
- Portable jerry cans
- Water purifiers
- Generators
B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Singapore to Port Vila
on the next available flight.
