Dispatches of the Japan Disaster Relief Medical Team in Response to the earthquake damage in the central Myanmar

Upon the request of the Government of Myanmar, Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Medical Team was dispatched to provide medical assistance operations in response to the damages caused by the massive earthquake. The team will arrive in Myanmar on April 2.

Disaster situation
A magnitude 7.7 earthquake occurred on March 28, causing serious human and property damage in Myanmar.
According to Myanmar’s state-run media, the number of dead has reached 1,644 as of March 29. The number of the dead and injured people is expected to rise.
