Emergency Assistance in Response to the Earthquake Damage in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the earthquake, upon the request from the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

1. Disaster situation
The earthquake, which occurred around 6 pm (local time) on 24 June, has caused serious human and property damage. According to the local authorities, the damage situation as of 27 June was as follows:
Deaths 1,430
Injured 3,238
Displaced More than 3,100 families
Affected infrastructures At least 1,423

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Miami)
Plastic sheets
Portable jerry cans
Water purifiers

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Miami to Caracas on the next available flight.
