Correction regarding the Press Release by the State House of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Tanzanian Media Article on "JICA Africa Hometown"

The State House of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has issued a correction to its previously published press release on its official website regarding the "JICA Africa Hometown" that was announced by JICA at the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9). The revised press release removes inaccurate references such as the creation of a "special visa" and clearly states that the "JICA Africa Hometown" is aimed at promoting cultural exchange.
Additionally, The Tanzania Times has published a correction to its earlier article. The revised article removes the term "dedicate" and clarifies that the initiative seeks to revitalize Japanese local communities by strengthening the friendly relationships that Japanese municipalities have built with African countries over the years.
JICA, in cooperation with the Government of Japan, will continue to take appropriate measures to ensure accurate reporting and dissemination of information regarding this initiative.
