JICA President Tanaka Met with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) Director-General Granit

On June 7, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) Director-General Jakob Granit at JICA Headquarters.
Director-General Granit expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to meet with President Tanaka and a wish to explore potential cooperation with JICA, in light of the Sida’s recent revision of the Swedish Development Cooperation Operational Strategy.
In response, President Tanaka welcomed Director-General Granit’s visit to JICA Headquarters, the first by a Director-General of Sida, and conveyed his hope that the meeting would be an opportunity for both institutions to deepen their collaborative relationship as development partners, contributing to the achievement of the SDGs and upholding peace, stability, and prosperity in the international community.
Both parties additionally exchanged views on various topics, including initiatives to support the private sector in contributing to development.
