President Tanaka Met with Costa Rica’s First Vice President Brunner

On August 7, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with First Vice President Stephan Brunner Neibig and other key cabinet members from the Republic of Costa Rica at JICA Global Plaza.
President Tanaka began by noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of JICA’s cooperation in Costa Rica, which shares many values with Japan, including peace and environmental conservation, and expressed gratitude for Costa Rica’s efforts throughout.
In response, First Vice President Brunner conveyed appreciation for JICA’s cooperation in Costa Rica and highlighted the importance of Japan’s interpersonal cooperation, which has facilitated numerous people-to-people exchanges over the past 50 years.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship and JICA also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to advance cooperation in the areas of Women, Peace and Security (WPS), the blue economy, and the green economy.
