JICA President Tanaka Met with President of the Philippines Marcos

On November 20, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines in Manila.
At the opening of the meeting, President Tanaka extended his sympathies for the damage caused by the typhoons that hit various parts of the Philippines, and reiterated JICA’s commitment to continuing to actively contribute to the country's development.
In response, President Marcos expressed his appreciation for JICA’s unwavering and steady cooperation across various sectors in the Philippines.
Subsequently, President Marcos and President Tanaka had a broad and constructive exchange of views on ongoing cooperation projects related to disaster risk reduction and infrastructure, as well as peacebuilding efforts in Mindanao and other issues. The discussions also took into account the results of the recent Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) 2024 held in Manila.
