JICA President Tanaka Met with First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Svyrydenko

On December 16, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko at JICA Headquarters.
During the meeting, President Tanaka reaffirmed JICA’s continued support for Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction efforts, with a focus on sharing Japan’s expertise and technologies. In particular, he highlighted plans to provide further support in the area of demining ahead of the Ukraine Mine Action Conference (UMAC) scheduled for autumn 2025. President Tanaka also expressed hope for the participation of relevant Ukrainian ministries in promoting private-sector partnerships, as well as for support from Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy for Japanese companies seeking to expand their operations in the country.
In response, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Svyrydenko expressed gratitude for JICA’s support in areas such as energy and clearance of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO). Additionally, she highlighted her commitment to strengthening collaboration to facilitate the entry of Japanese companies in Ukraine.
