JICA President Tanaka Met with President Dileita of the National Assembly of Djibouti

On June 13, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with President Dileita Mohamed Dileita of the National Assembly of the Republic of Djibouti at JICA Headquarters in Tokyo.
At the outset, President Tanaka expressed his delight at their reunion in approximately 12 years since 2013 and thanked for President Dileita’s leadership drawing on his experience as Prime Minister of Djibouti and support for JICA’s initiatives.
President Tanaka also highlighted the support to Japanese ODA and JICA projects including Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers' dispatch to Djibouti, expressing his hope for even deeper collaboration between the two countries.
In response, President Dileita conveyed his sincere gratitude for JICA’s various cooperation in Djibouti, such as education and transportation infrastructure that underpin citizens' daily lives.
Both parties also reaffirmed their commitment to work closely together ahead of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) this August.
