JICA Executive Senior Vice President Miyazaki Met with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Chau

On June 6, JICA Executive Senior Vice President Miyazaki met with Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam at JICA Headquarters in Tokyo.
During the meeting, Executive Senior Vice President Miyazaki extended her warm congratulations to Deputy Prime Minister Chau on his appointment under Viet Nam’s new government, which was inaugurated this April. She reaffirmed JICA’s strong commitment to cooperating for Viet Nam’s sustained economic growth, particularly in the fields of education, public administration, and science and technology. She emphasized JICA’s strong interest in enforcing Japan-Viet Nam cooperation across those priority areas to accelerate the country’s ongoing economic reforms.
In response, Deputy Prime Minister Chau expressed his deep appreciation for the longstanding assistance extended by the Government of Japan and JICA. As the Vietnamese government aims to achieve double-digit GDP growth from 2026 onward, he conveyed firm expectations for JICA’s continued partnership and contributions toward this national objective.
The two sides also exchanged views on Japan’s key official development assistance (ODA) projects across Vietnam and discussed outlook for further cooperation.
