On August 28, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with Green Climate Fund (GCF) Executive Director Mafalda Duarte at JICA headquarters in Tokyo.
They exchanged views on the importance of cooperation with a wide range of stakeholders in addressing climate change, acknowledging the increasing frequency of climate-related disasters around the world.
Both parties acknowledged that they would promote further cooperation between GCF and JICA, including the formulation of GCF-funded projects.
