On August 3, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Islamabad, to provide grant aid of up to 1.236 billion yen for the Project for Upgrading Sewerage and Drainage Services in Multan.
Under this project, the equipment to manage sewerage facilities will be upgraded or newly installed in Multan City in order to improve sewerage and drainage services. The project is expected to improve the sanitation environment for residents in Multan City, contributing to the achievement of SDGs Goal 6 (Clean water and sanitation).
