Signing of Japanese ODA Loan Agreement with the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco: JICA contributes for Morocco’s Universal Health Coverage by Development Policy Loan

On September 20, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat, to provide Japanese ODA loan for the Development Policy Loan for Universal Health Coverage.

3. Tendering of announcement of initial procurement package for international competitive bidding on project construction: No construction work with tendering is planned for this project.
JICA is co-financing this program with the World Bank ($500 million), the African Development Bank (€87 million) and the French Development Agency (€150 million), which will work together to promote reform of the health security system by, for example, encouraging workers in the informal sector to join the public health insurance scheme. JICA will also promote the implementation of the project in collaboration with UN agencies through technical assistance on a loan account basis.
