On December 23, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of Democratic Republic of the Congo in the capital city Kinshasa, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Rehabilitation of the Matadi Bridge and its Access Roads.

Additionally, for the detailed design of the project, JICA already signed an agreement to provide grant aid of up to 40 million yen in August 2023.
