On February 6, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco in Agadir, to provide grant aid for the Project for the Development of the New Generation Fishing Port at Souiria K`dima.

- Project Objective
The objective of the Project is to enhance capacity and function of the fish landing infrastructure of Souiria K’dima as a new generation fish landing infrastructures for artisanal fisheries through expansion of facilities, upgrading of hygienic management function, and installation of economic activity components, thereby contributing to development and diversification of rural economy of surrounding areas.

【Facilities】Construction of new breakwater, new seawall, new landing wharf, Provision of new fish handling area ( reclaimed land in which the fish auction hall is built), Extension of the existing breakwater, Construction of a visitor’s terrace, Expansion of the boat yard

B) Consulting services
Detailed design, Bidding assistance, Construction supervision, Soft components (Strengthening organizational capacity for new economic activities, Establishing an operation and maintenance system for facilities, equipment, and materials).
