JICA Executive Senior Vice President Kazuhiko Koshikawa metwith Secretary General H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at JICA headquarters on May 15.

Secretary General Lim was visiting Japan as the guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and signed the Japan-ASEAN Technical Cooperation Agreement with Minister for Foreign Affairs Tarō Kōno at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Iikura Guest House on May 13.

Executive Senior Vice President Kazuhiko Koshikawa expressed the enthusiastic support of JICA, saying that the signing of the Japan-ASEAN Technical Cooperation Agreement will enableASEAN community and JICA to work closely together on various projects.

Secretary General Lim expressed his appreciation for the generous support of JICA in various ASEAN nations and his hope that JICA will cooperate in the areas of greatest need in the ASEAN community such as quality infrastructure, digital economy, training industrial personnel and disaster prevention by utilizing the experience and knowledge of Japan.

JICA plans to take advantage of the Japan-ASEAN Technical Cooperation Agreement as an opportunity to cooperate with the ASEAN community, furthering ASEAN integration and strengthening ties between Japan and ASEAN nations.
