Dispatch of the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Expert Team (2nd Batch) in response to the oil spill off the coast of Mauritius

Following the decision by the Government of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency will dispatch the 2nd batch of the JDR Expert team to the Republic of Mauritius in response to the oil spill from a bulk carrier "WAKASHIO".

The team composed of 7 members including 5 environment experts will leave Japan on August 19 with bringing sorbent for oil clean-up and provide on-site environment assistance activities.

[Reference]
The first JDR left Japan on August 10, and has been engaged in its assistance activities including oil removal on site.
